A WHIMSICAL PASTEL SPRING COLLECTION
As a Senior Graphic Designer and Product Developer, I lead the entire process, from collaborating with leadership to establishing trend maps and mood boards, to developing original artwork, selecting color palettes, and curating font groups. I also manage coordination with vendors in China and India to ensure smooth production and final approvals. Additionally, I play an active role in the marketing phase, contributing once product samples are received.
This spring pastel art collection draws inspiration from the soft, cheerful tones of the season—capturing blooming flowers, delicate Easter eggs, charming spring birds and animals, and the playful essence of Easter. With a soothing palette of blush pinks, mint greens, buttery yellows, and sky blues, the collection radiates a sense of calm and joy, making it perfect for celebrating Easter and embracing the freshness of spring.
Reviewing past best-seller data, flower and bird-themed elements consistently top the list. Inspired by these, I designed a birdhouse with flower petals as a unique and playful icon.
Instead of traditional bird shapes, I drew inspiration from chubby bird statuaries, incorporating their forms and adding vibrant feather contrasts for a lively spring feel.
During the development of this collection, I had the opportunity to visit a ceramic factory in China, allowing me to address production challenges firsthand. The pastel color palette posed unique difficulties due to the ceramic firing process, which risked color loss. Through in-depth collaboration with our vendor, we devised specific adjustments to the production files to maintain color accuracy and integrity.
